The ribbon binding our cervical ribs together
is resolved fire and
quantum mechanics wrapped in beat-one-egg-until-fluffy.

Cut your teeth on my frightened way of life,
point fingers at the spiders in my closet,
let
this
be.

I told you
together we could divide the universe by zero
and find the answer in the rubble.
But I was too delirious
to write down the name on my night-stand,
so I might have been wrong.

Forewarning was rolled off my shoulders
and picked up by the orphans
who wanted to have a life,
and yesterday I found
why I must listen.

Her eyes
are no more entrancing than my sighs, you said.
The sway of her fiending lusts
held no ground, you said.
But I told you poets never find
anything.

Strangers tell me I should eat more,
the world is not nearly as revolting as I write it;
he
will
come
back.

I told you the sun would swallow us up one day
and you asked
what became of my opium laced assumptions.

This is beautiful.
I can't exactly say I know the meaning of what this piece details, but I can tell that it's beautiful.

So the blind man stared at David's imitation, and declared it beautiful.

Interesting. I like the abstract nature of this piece because even though the flow of thought is jagged, there are some sharp truths touched upon.

I must comment, however, that there are no cervical ribs. I don't know if you meant to mention something that didn't exist, but in case you actually wanted to talk about ribs, only the thoracic vertebrae have ribs. Anyway

Thank you for submitting this to #the-thinkers

Thank you!

There are such a thing as Cervical Ribs. From Wikipedia: "A cervical rib is a supernumerary (or extra) rib which arises from the seventh cervical vertebra. It is a congenital abnormality located above the normal first rib. A cervical rib is present in only about 1 in 500 (0.2%) of people;[1] in even rarer cases, an individual may have two cervical ribs."
It's not a normal thing to have. That's the point really.

Thanks for the information, this was a thing I would have been out to find out as I didn't know it, i just had to read the comments first :XD:

PS. Is he afraid of spiders? ;)

As I need to know to know if I've interpret this phrase right:

cut your teeth on my frightened way of life,
point fingers at the spiders in my closet,
let
this
be.

That's one interpretation I suppose. It's not mine, but it's certainly valid.

It's just as if he's afraid of them:

Then you could have used them as an inter-textual metaphor.
So it's spiders in the closet in stead of skeletons in the closet.

If he's afraid of them and your not, then he'd be afraid of what you hide in the closet and you're not yourself, you think of them as harmless and as a silly thing to be scared of, therefor the kind of "pull yourself together"-attitude towards the fear and therefor the words:
let
this
be.

Just my deep interpret of it ;)
